Asmara, 14 August 2025 – The developmental and cultural displays presented by the Southern and Anseba Regions at the National Festival 2025, based on extensive research and study, have received wide acclaim from festival visitors.
Visitors to the Southern Region’s display noted that the presentations of traditional music and dances of the Tigrigna and Saho ethnic groups, traditional housing construction, living standards, cultural food, and artifacts were captivating.
The exhibition, held under the theme “Double-fold Work for Development as that for Preservation of Identity”, included a variety of crops and fruits cultivated in the region, the historic Dubarwa Bridge built over 110 years ago, as well as ongoing water and soil conservation activities.
In related news, Mr. Abdu Adadi, Secretary of the Traditional Housing Display Committee of the Anseba region, said the displays presented by the region, including traditional housing construction, folklore, history, living standards, and the culture and traditions of the ethnic groups, aim to pass this heritage on to future generations.
Visitors remarked that the Anseba Region’s exhibition will make a significant contribution to acquainting the public with the region’s rich natural and ancient heritage, as well as its agricultural and other valuable resources.
