In its meeting that got underway at Denden Hall in Asmara today, the Eritrean Cabinet of Ministers held In-depth discussion on the paper presented by President Isaias Afwerki. The paper focused on the strategy regarding national security and development with respect to the prevailing political, security and diplomatic developments in the region.

"...assessing Eritrea’s positive contribution to-date towards ensuring a comprehensive political solution in the Sudan, the Cabinet mapped out strategy that would reinforce this correct stance of cooperation with the people and Government of Sudan. .."
"....On the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Eritrea and Ethiopia (UNMEE) and its mandate, the Cabinet noted that since the Temporary Security Zone (TSZ) had been legally terminated following the issuance of the EEBC ruling, the Cabinet reasserted Eritrea’s sovereign right to supervise UNMEE’s activities so that it may properly discharge its responsibility as a symbol in defending the sanctity of agreements and the rule of law...".
